# How to compare mobile phone plans in ChatGPT

Commerce for Agents is a free MCP server that ranks US postpaid and prepaid mobile phone plans by effective monthly cost per line, so ChatGPT can compare them for you. Connect it once, then ask ChatGPT for a plan that fits your lines, data need and budget.

## Connect Claude or ChatGPT

The MCP endpoint is `https://mcp.commerceforagents.com/mcp`. No API key, no account.

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste this URL:

## Example prompts

## What the tool returns

The `compare-mobile-plans` tool takes the number of lines and, optionally, data need, budget per line, prepaid/postpaid preference, must-haves (hotspot, 5G, premium data, unlimited data) and preferred network. It returns a curated selection of US plans ranked by 12-month average cost per line, each with its network, prepaid/postpaid status and a source or affiliate link. It collects no address or phone number and does not check coverage.

For example, for one postpaid line the tool currently returns Verizon's Simplicity Plan at $30/line (12-month average, unlimited data, requires autopay), followed by Google Fi and T-Mobile plans between $50 and $85/line. Every plan's price was checked on the carrier's own page within the last 45 days; the response states the oldest check date shown.

### Does this cost anything?

### Does it check coverage at my address?

No. By design it collects no location data. Confirm the underlying network reaches you on the carrier's own coverage checker before switching.

### Is it the whole market?
