# How to compare home internet providers in ChatGPT

Commerce for Agents is a free MCP server that lists the fixed home internet providers available at a US address, with technology, top speeds and latency, so ChatGPT can compare them for you. Connect it once, then ask ChatGPT for broadband at your address inside the chat.

## Connect Claude or ChatGPT

The MCP endpoint is `https://mcp.commerceforagents.com/mcp`. No API key, no account.

### Claude

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste this URL:

## What the tool returns

The `compare-broadband` tool takes a US street address (or latitude/longitude) and returns the fixed providers reported for that census block: technology (fiber, cable, DSL, fixed wireless or satellite), maximum advertised download and upload speed, and whether latency is low. Results are ranked by low latency first, then by speed. There are no prices.

For example, at 1721 N Ogden Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90046, it currently returns AT&T fiber at 5000/5000 Mbps, Spectrum cable at 1000/35 Mbps, Verizon fixed wireless at 300/20 Mbps, Starlink satellite at 280/30 Mbps, and several more, each flagged for latency. The data comes from the FCC's Broadband Data Collection at census-block level: a provider listed for a block may not serve every building in it, and the tool's response says so along with the data's as-of date.

### Does this cost anything?

### Does it store my address?

No. The address is used only to look up the US Census block and is not stored or logged. See [privacy](https://commerceforagents.com/privacy).

### Is there an affiliate relationship?

Where a provider link is shown, it may be an affiliate link and Commerce for Agents may earn a commission; ranking is never affected by commissions. Details in [the terms, section 4](https://commerceforagents.com/terms).

### Does it show prices?

No. The FCC data behind this tool has no prices or plans, only advertised speeds and technology. Check prices on the provider's own site.
